AQUATICS FACILITY ASSISTANT

Location: Middle Tennessee, USA

Salary: 25-32K based on qualification and experience

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in aquaculture, fish biology or a related field.

Previous experience working with fish.

The ability to adapt to changing work environment, and be able to work some weekends and holidays.

The ability to lift 50lb.

Description:

The Zebrafish Core Facility has an opening for an Assistant to support operations of the Aquatics Facility.

Responsibilities include maintenance of the zebrafish life support systems, preparation of the food and fish feeding, monitoring water quality and fish health, cleaning and sanitizing equipment and facilities, data recording.  In addition the candidate will have an excellent communication skills and ability to effectively work in a team setting and interact with Facility Users.  Working knowledge of fish biology, water chemistry and genetics are preferable.
